Our Safari Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions are meant to provide guidance and mutual understanding between to the client and Jamie Jungle Safaris about any booked safari.
“The Company” or “we” are used in this document to refer to Jamie Jungle Safaris while “guests” refers to the client who has booked their safari with the company.
The company encourages all guests to read the terms and conditions before booking your safari with Jamie Jungle safaris.
Jamie Jungle Safaris operates tours around Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda and the laws of the destination apply and not those of your own home country.
Note: The Company has bank accounts registered in Uganda only and nowhere else around the world.
Safari Information
The Company does its best to provide the most recent and accurate information but will not accept responsibility for omissions, sudden changes or errors beyond our control.
National Parks, animal sightings accommodation facilities, security alerts, status on gorilla permits are described to the best of our knowledge in good faith.
Accommodations
The Company recommends the best hotels, lodges and camps for clients bearing in mind the best price and service in every location based on the requested category.
All room arrangements are based on the clients request and single room supplements apply.
The Company’s Cancellation Policy
We avoid cancelling guests’ holidays but will consider cancellation as a last option under an avoidable circumstance and we reserve the right to do so.
Cancellation will be due to unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, as a result of bad weather, pandemics, war and clients ‘failure to pay for their holiday. We will offer you alternative travel dates for the same number of days and standard except for those cancelled for failure to pay.
We will refund any difference in price if you opt for less expensive safari but you will be expected to pay the difference if it is more expensive.
We will give a full refund incase the safari cannot be pushed to a future date except for gorilla permits which we cannot guarantee.
A part from the above-mentioned reasons for cancellation we shall not bear any other liability.
We reserve the right, to terminate a guest’s holiday at any point for behaving in a way that is dangerous and criminal, which includes but is not limited to distress to any third party or damage of property. Such a guest will be removed from the accommodation and safari immediately.
The Company shall have not be responsible for such a guest(s) anymore and no refund will be made to them.
Cancellations By You
We receive all client cancellation in writing through email which is not effective until we receive it and acknowledge receipt.
Cancellation fees will apply depending on the number of days left before the holiday departs and reason for cancellation.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received will be refunded less the cost of cancellation fees levied by hotels and administrative costs depending on the numbers of months/weeks/days left before the trip commences.

Complaints
In case the guest(s) are dissatisfied about a service, their Complaint must be reported immediately to our representative and to the supplier of the service(s) in question, who will do their best to resolve any problem.
If you remain dissatisfied, a written report should be submitted to the Safari manager in Kampala as soon as possible after the incident and not later than 20 days after completion of your holiday, to enable us to investigate them fully.
Regrettably, liability for any complaints not notified in accordance with this procedure cannot be accepted.
Force Majeure
We will do our best to deliver all the services agreed on, but cannot accept liability or compensate for errors and cancellations caused by unforeseeable happenings. Neither the company nor the supplier of the service(s) in question will accept the above-mentioned liability.
Unforeseeable happenings include: travel restrictions, pandemics, war, riots, border closures, unexpected government acts, terrorism, extreme weather conditions, fire, road closures, quarantines, dangers that lead to stopping sea, land and air travel, and any others situations beyond our control.
We purchase services from independent suppliers who are not under our control. Purchased services include: accommodations, restaurant services, transportation, and medical evacuation services among others.
Basing on that background we cannot be liable for, property damage, death, personal injury or any other loss that may result from the omission or error of the service provider who we have no control over.
We reserve the right to revise safari prices at short notice to cater for increases in foreign exchange or tariff rates before we receive your deposit payment.
We reserve the right to cancel, stop a tour or make alterations to the itinerary as may deem fit for the comfort and pleasure of clients. All extra activities, expenses or delays or events beyond our control will paid for upfront by the client(s)
Optional activities will be available on safari but carry and an inherent risk of personal injury. If you choose to participate in any extra activity in the course of your safari, we will not guarantee your personal safety.
We are flexible to allow client(s) do the extra activities as they may wish. Such participation will be at your own risk and we will assume no responsibility for your safety.
Gorilla Permits
The refund of Gorilla and chimpanzee permits is not guaranteed but rescheduling to a future date is possible if communicated 30 days before the activity’s date.
We do our best to obtain refunds but it’s at the discretion of the authority and is not guaranteed if a refund is paid by the relevant authority, we shall pass it on to the client.
Availability of desired dates for trekking is not guaranteed so clients are advised to be flexibility when booking or rescheduling.
We receive 100% payment for Gorilla and chimpanzee permits.
Tracking dates are only confirmed after the permits are purchased.
On rare occasions gorillas may not be sighted even though the chances of seeing them scales to 98%.
Rangers do their best for clients to see the gorillas but we do not guarantee sightings.
Insurance
Please get yourself the appropriate holiday insurance to cover, personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation in the event of an accident, illness, death, cancellation, shortening of the holiday, loss or damage of property.
Activities with a larger risk, like mountain climbing, white-water rafting should be covered.
Evacuation cover is provided by Jamie Jungle safaris for clients undertaking a whole safari package.
Jurisdiction
The principal company is incorporated in the Republic of Uganda and it operates under the laws of Uganda.
Liability
We shall do everything within our means to fulfill all components of the greed safari itinerary at the best standard.
Our employees shall take extra care to fulfill agreed services working hand in hand with agents, suppliers and sub-contractors.
The company and its agents only act as agents of the safaris, and shall not be liable for, delays, injury loss or damage of luggage or property whatsoever.
The company shall reserve the right to employ subcontractors for all or part of the services.
We shall accept responsibility for any clearly undelivered services by our employees, agents, suppliers and sub-contractors.
We will accept responsibility subject to the clause relating to “Force Majeure” above and the general Terms and Conditions.
Medical Requirements
It’s your responsibility to prepare well for the safari which requires good physical and mental health to enjoy East Africa’s outdoors activities on holiday.
Check with your doctor to ensure you have the right shots for the destination you’re travelling to.
Visiting some centers will also require that you take special shots in advance like Ngamba Island.
We will advise accordingly depending on your itinerary. Get advice about malarials before travelling and take the necessary precaution.
Most of the activities take place in location far off from modern health care facilities so advance preparation is a prerequisite more especially for mountain climbing and trekking.
Confirming your safari with us by making a deposit payment means that you are physically ready for the safari and have no life-threatening disability.
All safari participants with medical conditions requiring regular treatment, or have food restrictions should notify us in writing before arrival.
Payment
A payment of 30% of the trip cost and 100% for those trekking the gorillas confirms your safari with us. By making a deposit payment we assume that you have read and agreed to our terms and conditions.
The remaining balance shall be paid in full 2 weeks before the trip commences or in cash on arrival.
Clients shall make payments against an invoice issued by the Company clearly spelling out travel dates, number of days, and number of travelers, unit price and safari total.
Photography On Safari
We take photos during safari for our promotional purposes. Safari participants who do not wish to appear in any of our images should let us know in advance or inform the safari guide or tour leader before the safari commences.
We shall reserve the right to take photographic images of participants for the promotion of our safaris.
Included and Excluded Items In The Safari Price
All our safari packages shall include the following details unless negotiated differently: An English-speaking safari guide/driver, airport transfers; night stays at hotels/lodges/camps indicated in the package, 1liter of bottled water in the vehicle, and meals as indicated per day.
Transport is in 4×4 safari vehicles (land cruisers or safari vans) as agreed. Each client will be allowed two items of baggage in soft bags. All activities agreed shall be indicated at the bottom of the booked itinerary.
The list of what is excluded: items of personal nature, visas, tips, telephone calls, laundry, gifts, airport taxes and all drinks.
On safari the prices cover full board. The company reserves the right to vary the safari services agreed with the client in the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as road closures, bad weather, problems with national parks or hotels, security considerations.
In such cases alternative arrangements will be made as circumstances permit.
Transportation
We recommend a maximum of 7 people per mini bus and a maximum of 4 people in the land cruisers to ensure a window seat for every client in the vehicle.
We do our best to maintain our vehicles but cannot guarantee that there will be no breakdown or tire bursts due the nature of some of the roads.
We work with very experienced and professional driver guides who have the client’s interest at heart All deviation from the planned itinerary will be endorsed by the office in Kampala.
We shall take responsibility to fix any vehicle breakdowns that may include dispatching another vehicle to complete the safari as deemed fit.
