7 Days Flying wildlife Safari to Uganda

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe with flight to Kibale National Park (Kasese Airstrip)/Primates walk at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

In the morning, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your Uganda flight to Kibale National Park via Kasese. On landing at Kasese you will be met by your safari guide/driver for the transfer to Kibale National Park a drive that will take about 1-2 hours, you pass through traditional Ugandan villages where you see people at work tending their traditional crops of millet, sorghum, beans and maize. The lush rolling hills of this region provide good photo opportunities. As you approach Fort Portal in the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains, you enter Uganda's famous tea plantation region. A carpet of green spreads before you, as far as the eye can see, and seems an unusual contrast to the countryside through which you have just passed. arrive the lodge checkin and have lunch and after lunch In the afternoon we visit a nearby forest swamp that is excellent for viewing primates and other forest animals. At the eastern edge of Kibale forest is Bigodi Wetland sanctuary which is maintained by the local community. You will expect birds like the great blue turaco, blue monkeys, baboons, otters, mongoose, bushbucks, bush pigs and among others. Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park

Early Morning at 08:00am after breakfast head out for briefing and then go for the most popular activity in this park which is chimpanzee tracking. Chimpanzees are man’s closest cousins though they are one of the most threatened primate species. More primates like black and white colobus monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed monkeys, bush babies, pottos and many bird species like the yellow spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle, black bee-eater and mammals like elephants can be seen in this walk. Kibale National Park, which averages about 3,300 feet in elevation, is an extension of the great rainforests of central Africa. Typically, we locate the chimps by listening for their pant-hooting calls, then hustle to the area from which they are calling. We get to observe them as they feed in fruiting trees, lounge, and socialise with each other, or even, occasionally hunt. Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park at 9am after breakfast.

The safari continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park passing through Crater lakes region (depending on road condition) and enjoying views of the Rwenzori mountain ranges and the journey may take you a 2-2:30hrs drive reach check into the accommodation after have lunch at lodge and head out for an afternoon launch cruise on Kazinga Channel – towards Lake Edward where you will watch different wild animals that come to its waters and those that live therein and numerous species of birds after the boat cruise come back to lodge dinner over night at Mweya safari lodge/Elephant plains lodges(Luxury), Ihamba safari lodge (Mid-range),  Simba safari lodge (Budget).

Day 4: Early Morning Game drive at Queen Elizabeth National Park 

Today have an early morning breakfast at 6am and then head out for a game drive at 6:30am where you get to see avast, unrivaled number of species living in the wild. Queen Elizabeth national park has the highest biodiversity of any protected area in Africa. The best times for game viewing is morning when the predators are looking out for prey and before they go back into hiding. You will be using a car that allows the roof to top up so the opportunities of watching the game are maximized. Enjoy the exotic and rare species which include Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Buffaloes, and Uganda Kobs etc. and this game drive will take us 3-4hours then after the game drive at 11am head back to your lodge relax as you wait for your lunch to be served after lunch relax at your lodge and have a restful evening dinner overnight at Mweya safari lodge/Elephant Plains Lodge (Luxury), Ihamba Safari Lodge(Mid-range),  Simba Safari Lodge (Budget).

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Early morning game drive at Queen Elizabeth national park.

Today have an early morning at 6am game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile provides good opportunities to encounter elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs, and a variety of birds. Your Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Tour game drive will last up to about 4 hours and thereafter return to the lodge for refreshments and get park lunches or choose to have lunch enroute as you embark on a 5-6hours drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will drive through the ishasha sector and get to see the tree climbing lions if by chance you find them on the trees  after that head to Bwindi impenetrable national park on the buhoma trekking side have lunch enroute dinner over night at Mahongy Springs Lodge (high end), Silverback safari lodge/The Haven Lodge (Mid-range),  Ride for a woman cottages (Budget).

 Day 6: Gorilla trekking & Batwa Cultural Experience at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 

The ultimate safari experience in the ‘jungles of Africa’, spending the day with the gigantic gentle mountain gorillas. The adventure hiking through Bwindi impenetrable forest in search of gorillas is a unique experience. You will start with a briefing from the ranger guides after which you are divided into group to track different gorilla families. You will then hike the forest in search of the gorillas with leading from the ranger guide. Once you locate the gorillas with your ranger guide, observe them for an hour after which you will start the walk out of the forest come back to lodge dinner overnight at Mahongy Springs Lodge (luxury), Silverback lodge/ The Haven Lodge (mid-range), Ride For a Woman  (Budget).

 Day 7: Flying Bwindi to Entebbe

Our representative will take care of your transfer to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip. Today you will travel back to Entebbe International Airport. Please let us know if you wish us to include one (or more) nights in Kampala /Entebbe or arrange your transport to and from Entebbe Airport with Jamie Jungle Safaris.
