24 Days Primate Wildlife Safari to Uganda

Day 1: Welcome to Uganda the Pearl of Africa

You will be personally met by our company representative upon arrival at Entebbe airport, and transfer to The Boma Hotel in Entebbe (Mid Facility) depending on your arrival time for overnight and Dinner at Kampala Serena Hotel (luxury), Cassia Lodge (Mid-range), Airport Guest House/Emmaus Guest House (Budget).

Day 2: Transfer to Jinja (Full Day Rafting)

Early morning drive to Jinja for rafting, continue for rafting briefing, here you choose to raft in the paddle-powered boats for one of the wildest raft rides on the planet, or opt to be rowed downstream by our professional guides in the safety raft. After a buffet lunch you will hit a series of more wild rapids and wind the evening with BBQ snacks after rafting. Return to Kampala. Overnight at Kampala Serena Hotel (luxury), Cassia Lodge (Mid-range), Airport Guest House/Emmaus Guest House (Budget).

Day 3: Transfer from Jinja to Murchison falls National Park (Rhino trekking &Top of the Falls).

Today early raiser 6am  have breakfast 6:30am after embark on a 7-8hours drive to Murchison falls national park at 7am with a stop at ziwa sanctuary for rhino trekking where you get to see the rescued white rhino species in Uganda then have lunch at the rhino sanctuary restaurant after head to Murchison falls national park with a stop at the top of the Murchison falls after drive to your overnight accommodation dinner overnight at dinner and overnight-at Paraa safari lodge( luxury/High-end), Pakuba safari lodge ( mid-range),fort Murchison lodgeGipiri and Labongo Safari Lodge (Budget).

Day 4: Early Morning Game drive at Murchison Falls National Park

Today early morning at 5:30am have breakfast and embark on A game drive at 6am that will take you and your Murchison Falls wildlife travel mates to spot a variety of early riser nocturnal animals, birds and other wildlife like the big five which include: lions, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, leopards, warthogs, water bucks and bush bucks, topis and oribi after the game drive come back to lodge relax and rest have lunch at 12pm then have a resful afternoon as you prepare for another evening game drive to spot the missed big five cats  then after the game drive head to accommodation dinner and overnight-at Paraa safari lodge( luxury), Pakuba safari lodge ( mid-range),Fort Murchison lodgeGipiri and Labongo Safari Lodge.(Budget).

Day 5: Mid-morning  Boat ride at Murchison Falls National Park

After your morning breakfast ready to go for a boat cruise that starts at 10 pm along River Nile that finishes close to the bottom of the falls. On the boat cruise watch out for hippos, crocodiles, and birds like the African Fish Eagle along the river banks and take a stunning variety of photographs then head to accommodation dinner and overnight-at Paraa safari lodge( luxury), Pakuba safari lodge ( mid-range),Fort Murchison lodgeGipiri and Labongo Safari Lodge.(Budget).

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Albert

Leave Murchison for Hoima; drive at your convenience through the great escapements of Biso for a great winding scenery of Lake Albert. The afternoon is spent on sightseeing and relaxation. Overnight and meals at Lake Albert Safari Lodge

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Today wake up to a relaxed morning have breakfast at 7:30am then transfer to kibale national park have enroute lunch then continue to the park for dinner overnight at kyaninga safari lodgePrimate safari lodge (high-end), Turaco treetops safari lodge (Mid-range), Kibale Forest camp (Budget).

Day 8: Chimp-trekking & Bigodi guided nature walk at Kibale National Park

After breakfast today at 9am head to the park headquarters for briefing about the park rules and the chimpanzees rules. Thereafter proceed into the forest to search for the habituated Chimpanzees.The search lasts between 2-4hours depending on how far they have gone into the forest in search for food. Other primates to see are: Vervet Monkeys, olive baboons, grey cheeked mangabey plus the black and white Colobus among others. Return to the lodge to relax and have lunch after lunch head out for a nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary at 4pm.Bigodi is host to over 138 bird species, several primates like the Black and white Colobus monkey, blue monkey, grey cheeked mangabey and the red-tailed monkeys. The Bigodi wetland nature walks are an initiative of the local community and are therefore a direct way of giving back to the community. Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Safari Lodge/ Primate Safari Lodge  (High-end Lodge), Turaco Treetop safari lodge (moderate Lodge) or Kibale Forest camp (Budget Lodge)

Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park (Afternoon Boatcruise at Queen Elizabeth National Park)

 Today have a relaxed morning have breakfast at 9am then get ready to drive to Queen Elizabeth national park at 10am the drive may take you 2hours or 2 and hours to reach Queen Elizabeth national park then have lunch at your overnight lodge at 12:30pm and after lunch prepare to head out for an afternoon boat cruise on the kazinga channel at 2pm where you get to  encounter hippopotamus, buffalo, elephants and many more. The boat trip also takes visitors to see a variety of countless bird species.after the boat cruise head back to your overnight lodge dinner overnight at Mweya safari lodge or Elephant plains lodge (luxury/high end), Ihamba safari lodge (Mid-range), Simba safari lodge (Budget).

Day 10: Early Game Drive at Queen Elizabeth National Park

Today have An early morning at 6am game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile provides good opportunities to encounter elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs, and a variety of birds. Your Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Tour game drive will last up to about 4 hours and thereafter return to the lodge for refreshments and relaxation have lunch at midday after have a restful day as you wait for the Bwindi drive the next morning dinner overnight at Mweya safari lodgeElephant plains lodge (luxury/high-end), Ihamba safari lodge (Mid-range), Simba Safari lodge (Budget).

Day 11: Transfer to Ishasha Sector

Begin your day with a cup of coffee. Early morning games drive with Lion Tracking Experiential Research Tour along Kasenyi and Queens Mile. Other wildlife to encounter includes elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, spotted hyenas, bush bucks, stripped jackal, comical warthogs, elusive leopard, Uganda Kobs, lakes and a variety of birds. Later proceed to Ishasha sector where you will take on yet another evening game drive in search of tree climbing lions. Overnight and meals at Ishasha Jungle Lodge

Day 12: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today wake up to a relaxed morning at 8am have breakfast and at 9am embark on a 5-6hours drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will drive through the ishasha sector and get to see the tree climbing lions if by chance you find them on the trees  after that head to Bwindi impenetrable national park on the buhoma trekking side have lunch enroute dinner over night at Mahongy springs lodge (high end), Silverback safari lodge /The Haven Lodge (Mid-range),  Ride for a woman cottages (Budget).

Day 13: Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today is dedicated to Gorilla tracking which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Please bring with you a rain jacket, long pants drinking water, snacks, good comfortable hiking shoes/boots, sunscreen, a hat, and insect repellent to enhance your experience.The guides will lead your way into the jungle in search of these shy Primates in the group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorillas which is perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. Gorilla tours usually involve tracking for about 2 to 5hours sometimes under a heavy rain down-pour but all the same a worthwhile experience. If time allows, on return from the jungle you will go for a village Walk/community visit for a great opportunity to see how the indigenous people live. This delightful moment in Bwindi takes you to learn and take time to appreciate the life of the local people and the Batwa communities. Day 14:  Batwa Cultural Experience at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today get to sleep in and rest from the tough hike of the gorilla trekking experience have relaxed breakfast at 9am rest all mid morning have lunch and prepare to head out for a village Walk/community visit for a great opportunity to see how the indigenous people live. This delightful moment in Bwindi takes you to learn and take time to appreciate the life of the local people and the Batwa communities and also gives you an opportunity to dance with the locals Batwa community in their traditional dances have dinner overnight Mahogany Springs Lodge (High end lodge) or Silverback Lodge (Moderate facility) or Ride for a woman cottages (Budget facility).

Day 15: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda

After breakfast, drive to Rwanda as you enjoy the rolling hills for which Rwanda is well known to Ruhengere via Musanze. Thereafter drive by the lakes (Ruhondo and Mutera) arriving at Volcanoes National Park in the afternoon. The evening is spent on sightseeing and relaxing around the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at LeBambou Gorilla Lodge (Mid Lodge facility)

Day 16: Gorilla Trekking at Volcanoes National Park

After a briefing from your guide set off to track the gorillas. Spend an hour in awe watching the Gorillas go about their activities. You are likely to enjoy close views of adults feeding, grooming and resting as youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. Return to your lodge for overnight and dinner (LeBambou Gorilla Lodge (Mid Lodge facility).

Day 17: Golden Monkey Trekking at Volcanoes National Park

In Parc National des Volcano go track the golden monkeys and the afternoon simply relax at Camp. Dinner and overnight stay at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (Mid facility)

Day 18: Transfer to Uganda Kisoro

Early morning trek to Dian Fosseys grave that is on Mt. Karisimbi and Karisoke before later transferring to Uganda for dinner and an overnight stay at Kisoro Travelers Rest Hotel (Mid Lodge facility)

Day 19: Golden Monkey Trekking at Mgahinga National Park

Early morning visit the Golden Monkeys in the thick and cold jungles of Mgahinga National park. The activity is very adventurous. You will also encounter a lot of other primates plus countless beautiful bird species. After lunch, the afternoon is dedicated for relaxation and sightseeing. Day 20: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Islands Kabale

Begin your day with a drive to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale a region popularly known by many tourists as the Switzerland of Africa. You will be taken by the scenery of winding road, hills and valleys, terraced landscape and friendly big people. Relaxing the whole afternoon. Dinner Overnight and meals at Bunyonyi Birdnest Resort (Mid Lodge facility)

Day 21: Visit the Lake Bunyonyi Islands

The day begins with a boat trip for sightseeing and birding along Lake Bunyonyi. Feel the wonders of nature as you will see big terraced hills, big valleys, big everything including big people and forests! Return to the camp for lunch. After lunch ready for a guided nature walk and cultural visit to the Batwa Pygmies community to explore their life style. Overnight and meals at Bunyonyi Bird nest Resort Lodge (Mid Lodge facility)

Day 22: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Today wake up to a relaxed morning at 9am have breakfast then embark on a 4-5 hour journey to lake Mburo National Park have lunch enroute in mbarara then continue to lake mburo where you get to spend your two nights dinner over night at Mihingo Safari Lodge (luxury/high-end), Mburo Safari Lodge (Mid-range), Eagles Nest Lodge (Budget).

Day 23: Game drive & Evening Boat cruise at Lake Mburo National Park.

Today early raiser at 6am head out for an early morning game drive to spot the amazing wildlife species  like the antelopes, zebras, leopards, worth hogs, and many other by any chance you spot hyenas. The game drive will take about 3-4 hours come back to lodge have breakfast then rest as you wait for the afternoon boat cruise have lunch at mid-day after lunch drive to the docking area for preparation and briefing for a boat cruise on lake mburo where you will get to see a variety of water mammal species and bird species during your boat cruise. After the boat cruise at 4 or 5pm head back to the lodge prepare to have dinner overnight at Mihingo Safari Lodge (Luxury/High-end), Mburo Safari Lodge (Mid-range), Eagles Nest Lodge (Budget).

Day 24: Transfer to Kampala

Today wake up to a relaxed morning have breakfast at 8am check out of lodge  at 9am  then you will embark on a 9-10hours drive to Kampala you will have lunch enroute in mbarara after lunch we shall have a stop at the equator take pictures then continue to Kampala to your overnight accommodation or where you will choose to stay for the rest of the days before you head back home.
